Atena in English
Atena - Books with a View
Atena was established in 1986 and is situated in central Finland in the university city of Jyväskylä. We mainly publish general literature, both fiction and non-fiction. Above all we focus on cultural history, popular science, current affairs and biographies, from a less obvious perspective. We also publish books on cookery, crafts and humour. We publish around 45 titles a year and our turnover in 2007 was over 1.3 million euros. Atena has a staff of six people. Some of our books have won important prizes in Finland. In Finland, we are known as an interesting publisher that guarantees quality in its books.
